Our Services

At Jennings Forest Management, we specialize in the Managed Forest Tax Incentive Program (MFTIP), while offering expertise across a wide range of forestry services. Our goal is to deliver the highest quality service, ensuring that you, as the landowner, feel heard, supported, and confident in your forest management plan.

Managed Forest Tax Incentive Program (MFTIP)

Through Ontario's Managed Forest Tax Incentive Program (MFTIP), landowners with at least 9.88 acres of forested land can significantly reduce their property taxes by up to 75%. This program is designed to encourage sustainable forest management by offering tax relief to those who actively maintain and enhance their forests according to an approved management plan. Participants are required to develop a detailed plan that outlines their long-term goals for the forest, including conservation, biodiversity protection, and sustainable timber harvesting. By supporting responsible forest stewardship, the MFTIP helps preserve Ontario's forests for future generations while providing economic benefits to landowners.

Our managed forest plans typically range from $650 - $800 with prices varying depending on factors such as property size, the number of assessment parcels, and the extent of forested areas.

Certified Tree Marking

As Certified Ontario Tree Markers, we adhere to the highest standards of forest conservation and biodiversity. Our expertise allows us to identify critical forest features, including stick nests, rare or endangered species, high conservation value areas, and essential habitats.

Before harvesting your woodlot, consultation with a registered professional forester is required. If a harvest is recommended, the forester will develop a "harvest prescription." Our specialty is implementing these prescriptions with precision and care. Pricing for our tree marking services is based on a per-acre rate—please contact us for further details.

Invasive Species Management

At Jennings Forest Management, we specialize in managing invasive species such as buckthorn, dog-strangling vine and garlic mustard. These invasive plants threaten the health of forests by outcompeting native vegetation and reducing biodiversity. Our team uses proven methods like manual removal, herbicide treatments, and habitat restoration to control their spread and restore balance to your woodland. We offer customized management plans to protect your forest and promote the growth of native species.
